NPESC presents book awards to BCIT students

Once again, the NPESC was honoured to be present at the Convocation ceremonies for the 2018 BCIT graduating classes of Nautical Sciences and Marine Engineering on July 6th. Our Chairman, Captain Richard Smith and Secretary-Treasurer, Captain Joachim Ruether were pleased to make presentations to officers Nico Ortega and William Campbell.

Bursary awards made at BCIT marine campus…

We were pleased to be able to make the last two of our 2017 bursary awards today to Cadets Stephen Lavigne and Cullen Lovick, both of whom are enrolled in the BCIT Nautical Sciences Program. On hand to make the presentations were Captain Joachim Ruether from the NPESC and Terry Stuart the President of the BC Supercargoes. These bursaries are made possible with generous assistance from the BC Supercargoes.

NPESC Christmas Party

The NPESC celebrated the Christmas season at our annual party courtesy of our gracious hosts Captain Joachim Ruether and his wife Helga. Our thanks to them for providing a delightful venue and to attendees who provided the delicious food for this event.

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year and we look forward to continuing our efforts to promote the education of Canadian mariners in 2018.

NPESC/Supercargoes Bursary Award

Earlier today Captain Joachim Ruether(NPESC) and Terry Stewart (BC Supercargoes) were in attendance at BCIT Marine Campus to present Nautical Sciences Cadet Megan Bouvier with one of the Bursary awards made by NPESC and The BC Supercargoes Association.
