This is the story of one voyage of a Fortune Class vessel carrying a full load of lumber from ports on Vancouver Island to Japan. The ship was the m.v. Athol. The vessel was chartered to the Canadian Transport Company (CTCo), a Division of MacMillan Bloedel. The Master of the ship was Captain Ed Monteiro FNI, who became the first Chairman of the Nautical Professional Education Society.
